In addition to more than 100 free attractions, 70 Midway rides, and countless activities across the fairgrounds the Fair returns with even more food, festivities and family fun for the 133rd year.
“World of Birds” — Steve Martin and his collection of birds return after six years of retirement in new show SOAR! Martin will present a cast of new species with birds from all around the world to bring his audience the aviary world up-close. His show will feature bird releases and flyovers inches from guests’ heads, along with the education of bird health, their habitat, and conservation efforts. Fairgoers can watch the show daily at the Band Shell.
Fiestas de Marionetas — Celebrate a fiesta of color and culture when a small village of more than 85 handmade marionettes come to life. Performances are daily at the McDonalds Amphitheatre.
Texas Cinema will introduce you to the history and impact of filmmakers, performers, and creators from Texas through video and other media elements. The Great Hall will feature interactive opportunities and valuable historical artifacts with screenings playing all day.
The Kinsey African American Art & History Collection celebrates the achievements and contributions of black Americans from 1595 to present. More than 150 of the shared treasures accumulated by Shirley and Bernard Kinsey, such as paintings, sculptures, letters, and more, will be featured. The exhibition is on view at the African American Museum, Dallas through Mar. 1, 2020.
Fair Focus: The Photography of Kevin Brown will display his most exciting and intriguing shots from his 16 years of capturing the sights, tradition, and fun of the State Fair of Texas. His display will be open daily at the Briscoe Carpenter Livestock Center.
Mighty Mikeis an old-time carnival show presenting incredible feats of strength. Witness Mighty Mike as he bends horseshoes, juggles bowling balls and tears packs of cards all while wearing a 1920’s style bathing suit! Oh, and he dances too!
Splashdance!is a State Fair of Texas exclusive performed daily on the Esplanade. Enjoy the festive music as you cheer on the high-energy performance of professional dancers and acrobats with the amazing fountains as a backdrop.

Contain Yourself(ie) is a fun time to snap a bunch of selfies of yourself or with friends and family. Walk down to the Contain Yourself(ie) area and stroll around the historic Lagoon to take pictures with beautifully painted shipping containers.
Casa de Chocolate, “A Sweet Indulgent Affair”will make chocolate lovers go gaga! Learn about the origin and history of chocolate with demos, classes, and divine chocolate tastings inside the Women’s Museum.
