Our busy #MilaSays columnist, Mila Vincent, 4, felt as if she hopped a cyclone from Farmers Branch to Munchkinland to see The Wizard of Oz: The Family Holiday Concert at The Firehouse Theatre. She was excited to go backstage after the show where she met with Munchkins, Dorothy (Lauren Scott) and Toto and found out that the witch that scared her — just a little — from the stage was actually a very nice performer named Caroline Rivera.
Here’s what Mila and her grandmother, Johannah Luza, have to say about the show:
Mila: It was so much fun seeing all the characters! I was a tiny bit scared to see the witch, but when I got to see her backstage, she was so nice!! Toto was so cute, too! I hope every kid gets to see The Wizard of Oz. The Firehouse Theater is one of my favorites because everyone there is so friendly .
Johannah: This classic never gets old and parents and grandparents love it as much as the kids. Dorothy (Lauren Scott) was fantastic as all the actors were! I agree with Mila about The Firehouse Theater. The staff is so welcoming, always smiling and we will definitely return!
Mila Vincent is our official “kid theatre reviewer.” Her favorite things to do are growing vegetables in her garden with her Dad, give to others on “kind” days with her Mom, swim with her baby sister, review shows with her grandmother Johannah Luza, and wear twirly dresses. Her favorite color is purple.
