Our peripatetic #MilaSays columnist Mila Vincent, 4, enjoyed seeing some of her favorite picture books come to life in The Very Hungary Caterpillar Christmas Show, a puppet-powered production created by Jonathan Rockefeller from four Eric Carle books and directed by Douglass Burks. Another highlight was the chance to meet the performers and the Caterpillar puppet in the lobby after the performance.
Here’s what Mila and her grandmother, Johannah Luza, have to say about the show.
Mila: My favorite part of the show was when the Caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly. And there was a funny farmer who gave all his animals numbers for names! At the end of the show we all got to sing Christmas songs!! All the kids will like The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas!
Johannah: Even the tiny tots kept their eyes on the stage with the colorful animals and cute story! Under an hour the show is perfect for the whole family. The biggest surprise is that the book The Very Hungry Christmas is 50 years old this year!
