Mila Vincent, our intrepid 5-year-old critic, was happy to learn that Firehouse Jr., the youth division of The Firehouse Theatre in Grand Prairie, is streaming its production of Madagascar Jr., initially performed in June 2019, through October 15. She settled in with some of her favorite stuffed animals and her grandmother and co-reviewer, Johannah Luza, to check it out for you.
Mila: This was a fun play with lots of kids in it and lots of singing and dancing! It was about some animals at the Central Park Zoo that wanted to escape and be free. There was a lion, a zebra, some funny penguins, a hippo, and a giraffe. My favorite was Marty, the Zebra. She danced a lot. When they escaped, they found out they were on their way to Africa. There are lots of surprises along the way, and you can watch it any time you want until October 15 to find out what happens! The music is so fun; it will make you want to dance, too! I watched it with my stuffed animals in my bunk bed!
Johannah: This was a fun, entertaining musical for kids. The young actors did a great job at The Firehouse Theatre (before COVID). The songs were fun, and there was lots of humor in the show. It was a change seeing a show with people altogether! Lots of fun!
