My Possibilities

Vision Becomes Reality Thanks to Program in Plano, Texas

My Possibilities started out with three mothers seeking a better future for their children. It has since developed into a state-of-the-art continuing education and job development program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in North Texas.
My Possibilities serves adults 18 and older with disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injuries, and many more. It offers programs that focus on socialization, vocational training, and independent living skills to equip Hugely Important People (HIPsters) with the knowledge and confidence to achieve the lives they desire.

In early 2017, My Possibilities broke ground on 20 acres of land in Plano to construct its Campus for Higher Learning. In May 2018, it opened the doors to the Fischer Family School of Life Skills, which was the first of seven campus buildings. In September 2018, the organization purchased 178 acres of land in Garland to build the first inclusive residential community in the North Texas area.

In 2019, My Possibilities announced a new initiative, MPact, through the Texas Public Benefit Corporation. MPact provides individuals with disabilities connections to employment opportunities. With integrated employment, MPact redefines the roles of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community by partnering with sustainable businesses, enabling MPact students to demonstrate their unique abilities. MPact believes that the guiding principles of sustainability, tenacity, integrity, creativity, and teamwork will guide the organization’s internal conduct as well as its relationship with the community.
My Possibilities and MPact announced Soap Hope in 2020. Soap Hope is an online retailer that serves as curriculum and job training for My Possibility students and HIPsters. Soap Hope employs individuals with disabilities in various roles, including warehouse stocking, shipping, and assembly. The online retailer believes the disabilities community deserves the same right to equality in employment opportunities as any other group. Currently, Soap Hope employs two HIPsters, and actively hosts 13-week HIPster Academy internships. 100% of the profits earned from each sale benefits My Possibilities.
Today, My Possibilities serves as the pioneering leader in vocational education for adults with IDD in North Texas.
As the need continues to grow in our community, the organization continuously seeks new ways to expand its facilities and outreach efforts.
