A friend shared this funny story that her friend shared with her – such is life in the world of social media. I am sure all who read it can relate!
As soon as my friend’s friend had left a meeting with a client, she began searching for her keys. They weren’t in her pockets or purse. A quick search of the meeting room revealed nothing. She realized she must have left them in the car.
Heart racing, she headed for the parking lot. She often left her keys in the ignition. Her theory: the car’s ignition is the best place not to lose them. Her husband’s opinion: the vehicle will be stolen.
She raced through the office door, but the parking lot was empty. Was her husband right? She called the police, gave them her location, and confessed she had left the keys in the car. The car must have been stolen.
Then she swallowed her pride and made the most difficult call of all.
“Honey,” she began. She always called her husband “honey” to get on his sympathetic side. “I left my keys in the car… and it’s been stolen.”
There was a long silence.
“Are you kidding me?” he barked. “I dropped you off!”
She paused, embarrassed.
Then she put on an attitude and said, “Well, then come and get me.”
“I will,” he said, “as soon as I convince this cop I didn’t steal your car.”
And so it is in the world of multitasking – maybe it’s not so good for you after all!
